vBulletin 3.6.9

While primary development efforts are concentrated on the forthcoming vBulletin 3.7.0, many of the fixes and improvements that have been made for the new version have also been back-ported into vBulletin 3.6.x. There are now enough of these changes to warrant a 3.6.9 release.

vBulletin 3.6.9 is (for the time being) our newest 'stable' release version for use on production sites. Any customers running a version of vBulletin 3.6.8 or earlier are advised to upgrade to take advantage of the improved stability of the new version, which includes 159 bug fixes.

We anticipate this to be the final release in the 3.6.x series before it is superceded by vBulletin 3.7.0.

Read more about it here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=265285).

One has to wonder.....Should we upgrade to vb3.6.9 and then upgrade again to vb3.7 when it goes gold, or should we hold off on doing an upgrade until vb3.7 goes gold......

I have not heard of any security issues with vb3.6.8. There are some bugs in vb3.6.8, but I dont think I want to do 2 upgrades on my other sites. Although......the quick edited not working correctly is a pain in the arse! Decisions, decisions, decisions....

If you do your upgrades, make sure you back up your database before you do the upgrade!

I know some of the templates between 3.6.x and 3.7 are different. If you have custom footer or header templates, you will have to revert them and redo your changes when you upgrade to 3.7 ;)
