How To Create A New Style

A custom style is a way to personalize your site. I do not recommend changing the default style. Instead, create new styles and set the default style as the parent. See our tip (http://www.vbcrew.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6) for skins.

Here is how to create a new style.


Log into your admincp.
Click on the arrow next to "Styles & Templates.
Click on Style Manager.
Click on Add New Style.


Add New Style.


For parent style, select default style.
Create a Title for you new style.
Select yes if you wish your users to be able to use this style. You can select no until you finish the style and can turn it on later.
Put in a display order number.
Click Save.

Hi i have been given a style to add to my forum i have uploaded that style like you mention here but i also have been given another folder called mysite
containing polls,ranks etc do i have to overwrite my original files because i still want to keep the default skin as well or where do upload this folder to ?

These are the steps for creating a new style, not importing a style. I will create another how to post on how to import a style.

You do not want to over write the default images. Usually you will want to put the folder with the images in your forums>>images folder. They should be in the directions that came with the skin.
